Torpedo Extra IPA
Today I had to go to town for some errands. Since our town is 50 miles (80km) away, one way, I figured I better have a beer for lunch and get some beer for this project. These are the beer taps at Big Island Pizza, a nice place to cool off after a busy day of errands in Kona. I did choose a Torpedo today. I believe it is the second most popular of Sierra Nevadas all-year beers. From their web site:
"Sierra Nevada and hops go hand in hand. What began as a crazy idea scribbled in a pub eventually became our newest year-round hop bomb, Torpedo Extra IPA. The first beer to feature our “Hop Torpedo”—a revolutionary dry-hopping device that controls how much hop aroma is imparted into beer without adding additional bitterness. Torpedo Extra IPA is an aggressive yet balanced beer with massive hop aromas of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit."
I like this one, but it is intense, not for every day. About all the other beers I bought, you (and I) will find out more later...
