I will gather photos and experiences to create a lasting memory of what it's like to be 11 years old in Hamilton New Zealand, and all the things I love about my life in this part of the world.

Day 13 A giant metal stake

Today Mum said to get into some warm clothes and go outside to help with the garden. We took the trampoline down since it had a big rip in it. I cut down this tree and removed a giant metal stake from three hundred mm in the ground. I bashed the stake around with the sledgehammer and then dug out around it and liquidated a few worms and tree roots. I filled the hole with water and wiggled it around more and gave it a few more whacks with the sledgehammer and it eventually came out. At least a third of the stake was under the ground. 1 down, 6 more to go. (At the bottom of the picture on the left hand side of the tree at the bottom you can just see the hole that the stake came out of but you probably can't tell how hard I had to pull on it!)
