Keeping it simple, but challenging myself. I love taking photos and already have a 'photoaday' challenge so I want to do something different but related and to develop my skills. So, I am going to constrain my photo-taking to a particular focus - I will take a photo each day or create a drawing and photograph it connected to the Māori kupu o rā and I will also try to put the kupu into a sentence.

Day 61 Tītī - muttonbird

We had the pleasure of seeing tītī swooping and gliding in the sky down in Rakiura - Stewart Island. We also learned about muttonbird leaves from the rangiora shrub (bracchiglottis rotundiflora). They are a thick leaf which has all sorts of uses but particularly used in Stewart Island as postcards (https://www.nzgeo.com/stories/dead-letters/) as they can easily be written on. The local ferry company now uses them as tickets for the Ulva Island ferry!
